Choosing here will also means staying close to York Minster. We are only about 4 or 5 minutes walk from this historic masterpiece of Gothic architecture. That also put you close to historic Stonegate, where lovely boutique shops are placed all along an ancient cobbled street.

Bootham Bar is the entrance to the city wall just down the end of the road we are on called Gillygate and yes you spotted it thats where our name comes from. The is also the start of what is called the "Restaurant Mile" of York. This is exactly what it sounds like. A mile of restaurants in a near strait line that runs one end of the city to the other. Thus, you wont have to go far to get something tasty to eat.
