We are positioned just inside the city walls. After you arrive and have put your luggage in your room you can start sightseeing just outside the front door. Walk out the front, turn left and you will see Walmgate Bar. Walking to this historic monument will take you about 2 minutes. From here you can start your tour of the walls. The Barbican at Walmgate bar is a must see attraction in the city and you will be right next to it staying here.

It is not only the walls we are well located for. Walking into town along Walmgate (the road we are on) will take you about 6 minutes to cover the 500 yards distance. While on your way into the centre you will pass by numerous restaurants. In fact the walk from Walmgate up into Fossgate is part of something known as the York Restaurant Mile.

However not to forget our own lovely restaurant you will have to try. The Yorkshire Meatball company has the run of the kitchen here in the afternoon and evening. The delights here are just what it says on the tin. Its balls. Meatballs, Chickenballs, Fishballs and Veggieballs too.

They here all come with an option of 5 sauces which we call the blanket, as it covers your balls. Choose from good old fashioned Gravy, Ketchup, Spicy Ketchup, Mushroom Pesto or Lemony Creme Fraiche.

Your balls also come with 5 further options of other things it is laid on. Choose from Pasta, Greens, Mash, Roasted Veg, Couscous or Lentils. We call this its bed.
