Situated between the race course and close to the city centre. The city walls are only a short walk away as is the railway station.

Originally a Georgian townhouse, this splendid hotel offers everything the discerning business or leisure visitor could want. Offering comfortable beds and clean well appointed rooms, we are sure you will enjoy a stay with us.

Our restaurant will be happy to serve you tasty meals. The bar area can be used to relax in or have a snack in, for most of the night. Please mention special dietary requirements on the booking form or by telephone. ( see your booking confirmation email for our phone number )

York is a very compact city. From our location, its attractions are easy to get to on foot. The Roman, Viking and Medieval history of the city awaits you.

The Knavesmire race course is close to us. We are positioned between the racecourse and the town centre. What that means is you can do everything and anything you want with ease, using us as your base.

Bad stuff: food not as good as other ibis breakfast not a vast selection on cold table and the cooked buffet was cold

Overall: we enjoyed our stay it would have been helpful if we had been informed that food was not available owing to a booked party on saturday night.

Good stuff: The hotel was extremely good value and was near to the rail station. as we found york a very ammeniable city for getting to on foot, the Ibis was ideal as a base.The food was excellent and the atmosphere relaxed and inviting.

Bad stuff: The bed was a little hard but it was large and spacious.I can find no other faults whatsoever.

Overall: Brilliant.This is the first time i've stayed at an Ibis hotel and it will certainly not be my last.The internet comments on some sites were not too complementary .All I can say is, some are very hard to please!!

Overall: the reason for the poor ratings in parts of this questionnaire was that i rang in to move the booking from a aturday to a Fri only to discover when i arrived that we were still booked in for the saturday. Luckily there were rooms availbale but that was a very poor service.
