For that relaxing, healing weekend away from it all we provide a friendly and inviting farm style guest house set on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, in the ancient market town of Kirkbymoorside. A friendly and caring environment will envelop you and make you feel at ease and harmonious.

Appletree is an 18th century farmhouse which combines old world charm with modern day amenities to give you the perfect place to recharge your batteries. Pretty ensuite bedrooms, beamed ceilings and beautiful walled gardens. Start the day with our full English breakfast and then you are set for exploring the surrounding countryside.

The village is within easy reach of Scarborough, Whitby and York. If you love walking then simply step out of the front door and choose a direction to meander the Ryedale landscape - filled with churches, cathedrals, manor houses, museums and craft centres.

Sporting activities include golf, horse riding and fishing. A short distance away is the Steam Railway making an alternative way to see the scenery. Castle Howard is the grandest Manor House in the North of England and is filled with antique treasures, furniture, paintings and fine porcelain. Set in a 1000 acres of parkland makes this the perfect place to stroll and take a breather.

A 30 minute drive or train ride and you are in the city of York - filled with wonderful shops, museums, arts, crafts, theatres and cafe bars. This medieval town has so much mystery and magic going on with ghost hunting and the Psychic Museum commissioned by Jonathan Cainer - highly interesting. Take a tour or walk around the city walls or a river boat ride up the Ouse. Finish off with afternoon tea and you're ready to head back to our oasis of peace nestled in the countryside.

Good stuff: homely, very comfortable, clean, quiet, parking just outside the hotel,a warm welcome by staff,

Overall: We would be happy to come back to this hotel again and would highly recommend it to friends and family. Also the hotel is in a good location to discover the lovely countryside in this part of England.
