We are located in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors and National Park, a special oasis of peace and calm in between Helmsley and Pickering. Super surrounding countryside with huge potential for walking to your heart's content. Golfing, fishing and horse riding are all to be enjoyed in this area. For a relaxed, less hectic break away from it all this is the place to spend quality time with your perfect partner.

With a good choice on our menu, real ales and wines and a homely atmosphere, evenings in are a joy. We have a choice of stylish ensuite rooms including 4 posters.

A visit to the close by Castle Howard Estate with its extensive parklands and stylish interior - filled with antiques, fine furnishings, paintings and porcelain makes for a very pleasant afternoon out. Meander through the country lanes until you find a tea house serving afternoon teas.

A 30 minute drive takes you in to York where there are a host of shops, theatres, museums and sights to be explored. Fancy a ghost hunt or visit the Psychic Museum commissioned by Jonathan Cainer on Stonegate and be sure to visit the Gothic Cathedral - York Minster. Take in a show at the Grand Opera House and spend the evening in a stylish arena whilst being entertained by first class actors.

Good stuff: Very comfortable, clean and spacious.

Bad stuff: The leak in the roof! The night we stayed it rained and the roof in our room leaked all night. Had to move the tv and pack the floor with towels!

Overall: Very good, clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. Ideal if travelling with children. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent.
