This 18th century building is a grade II listed building. It was converted from a house to a public house and now has great value rooms available for you. It is located within York's Historic Core Conservation Area close to the walls.

This historic building was built in the late 1700's. It was originally a house but now it is a house and a pub as well. The wooden front is painted as you would expect from an old pub. the bright colours cannot be missed as you arrive.

Rooms here are compact but very comfortable. This pub and it rooms are rated very highly by other staying guests. There is a high level on cleanliness in the rooms. Staff here go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your tome in York while you stay. You get very good value for money here that is for sure. You pay a low price but, you get so much more than you would be expecting from a pub.

Breakfast here is a real treat. You have a good selection available and it is all very tasty. It is one of the highlight of staying here. Getting up in the morning, having a good feed presented by friendly staff and not having to worry about the washing up! The perfect way to start a great day out.

The location here is also a bug bonus for travellers. we are just a few minutes walk from Walmgate Bar. This is the main Southeastern entrance to the wall. It has the only remaining barbican, which sticks out some 30 feet from the rest of the medieval walls. So a great place to start the famous York Walls Walk. Up the steps, onto the walls and right the way around the city you go!
