Your rooms here in this historic mansion house are created to be stylish and comfortable. All our ensuite rooms have a unique and beautiful theme, where you can indulge in the choice of a four poster room with spa baths and thoroughly spoil yourselves. The communal spaces have a mixture of designs in keeping with the building and modern chic.
Getting to the city walls and York Minster from this location is very easy on foot. You walk out of the front door onto Bootham and turn left. Walk up the road and you will see Bootham Bar, one of the entrances to the city strait in front of you. The walk to is will take you about 1 or 2 minutes depending on how energetic you are feeling.
To get to the Minster means carefully crossing the busy road and going through Bootham Bar. Continue strait up the road and as you come around the shallow bend in the road York Minster will appear out in front of you slightly to the left.
For those who wish to have a family gathering or celebration we can arrange a beautiful occasion for you - the gardens are perfect for those memorable photos and our award winning cuisine will keep your guests happy and content. The Piano Restaurant is popular and has a good reputation.

As we had booked well in advance I would have expected them to be adjacent. The smaller room had the extra bed to make it a triple....it would have been better to put up the extra bed in the larger room. It was a shame the reception was in the very ordinary entrance. The pictures on the web suggested a grand, sweeping staircase....which was there, but you had to look for it! Overall: O.K. but I had expected a little more style! |
