Located within the city walls a few minutes walk from them and the middle of the city. Professional and courteous staff will give you a warm welcome at Lady Anne Middletons. We provide all our guests with all the modern facilities you would expect from a hotel.

We have updated the main part of the hotel to have facilities like the indoor swimming pool, a gymnasium and sauna for your pleasure.

The front building is quite distinctive and features a history that goes back to 1659. As a bonus there is a lovely English garden which the older part of the hotel is in and is a wonder to see in the spring and summer.

Close by to our quiet location you can find local pubs to relax in and find out whats really happening in the city. I would personally recommend trying the Golden Ball a minute or two away. The owners now passed away had been running this establishment for many years. Now todays owners still know what you expect on a stay with us.

All of our rooms are non smoking.

Good stuff: Central with easy access to York City. Quiet location

Bad stuff: Hotel accommodation was 'tired' and in need of refurbishment. Hotel lounge was smokey.

Overall: Location and access is excellent. Hotel accommodation needs improving. Food and service were good.

Good stuff: Provided breakfast earlier that the scheduled time when I asked for it

Bad stuff: Breakfast not served until 8:00 am - as a business traveller I usually start work then, not start eating.

Overall: Helpful and friendly staff. The room was cold - even with the heating fully on. Fortunately I don't mind the cold too much, but the bathroom was icy.
