Well situated for enjoying the sights and social scene of both York and Harrogate. The latter is wonderful for exclusive shopping, Flower Shows and its amazing International Centre which seats over 2000 people in its auditorium; with seven exhibition halls and the Royal Hall - there's always plenty to do and see here. Harrogate is also well known for its many Spas - see the Sulphur Springs at the Royal Pump House Museum. Close by you'll find Knaresborough Castle and Courthouse Museum and be sure to visit St Robert's Cave.

Venture a few miles, you are in to York and you will be met by a host of sights, shopping and places to spend time. Famous shopping streets are Coney, Spurriergate and Parliament which run through the heart of the city and are filled with gifts stores, lingerie, accessory, fashion houses, mainstream stores and books, speciality foods and chocolate shops. An abundance of theatres showing the latest show and a rather interesting Psychic Museum commissioned by Jonathan Cainer on Stonegate is well worth a visit.

Good stuff: The restaurant and food were first class. The leisure facilites were excellent too. Very clean hotel with excellent service. We had a really enjoyable stay.

Bad stuff: Nothing, it was all brilliant.

Good stuff: The area in which the hotel is situate is beautiful. In the middle of nowhere really! The restaurant is very good and the health club was very nice.

Bad stuff: The rooms which are booked on a budget basis ie: probably through yourselves are in the top of the modern part of the hotel. They are extremely good rooms, however they only have a skylight not a proper window, which was a bit disappointing as the views are fantastic. This should perhaps be pointed out.

Overall: The hotel, as expected from this chain, was excellent. The leisure facilities are good, very clean and well kept. The restaurant, whilst al a carte prices was fabulous. Definitely stay again, but would upgrade as the cheaper rooms have a skylight, not a full window.
