Most famous for its beautiful streets filled with shops, cafe bars, interesting yards and alleyways and wonderful museums. Anyone who visits must see the Minster as it is the highlight of any visit. The Jorvik Centre is also a good way to spend some fum family friendly time nearby. Those with families who would like to go a little further afield should not miss the Tropical World at the incredible Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo.
After busy days out and about, know that you are returning to the comforts of home, enjoying a cup of tea in the afternoon with us and perhaps relax by having a round of golf at the nearby 9 hole course.

It was nice to stay in a guest house/hotel where you were made to feel welcome, as a young couple just wanting to get away from things can sometimes be intimidating in some places but the couple that run this quaint house were incredibly warm and welcoming to all. Also being left to your own plans were was a big help for us. I would recommend to all that ashley's is one of the nicest guest houses i have stayed in in all myt stays at York Bad stuff: Nothing at all, it wasn't too personal but wasnt impersonal either. Overall: In the area it Ashley's is situated it is only a ten minute stroll through the park and along the river from the city centre and is very quiet so no major noises etc to disturb you which was great, also the couple that ran the house were amazing, it was personal but not too personal and you felt extremely welcome on entering, it felt like they wanted you to be there which is something i have found that isnt easy to find in guest houses. The room etc where spotless and very comfortable/spacious. Overall the stay was extremely comfortable and great value for money. We will be back!!!! |
