Good stuff: Convenient situation and reasonable price. Good breakfast!
Bad stuff: Quite noisy at night (both inside and outside the hotel); shower water temperature very difficult to control

Good stuff: We were allowed to park car in hotel car park prior to check in. Breakfast was outstanding. The location ( 5-10 mins fromc ity on one road)
Bad stuff: Noise of slamming doors and from the road.
Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: Fine and nothing wrong with the hotel at all, only problem was until 1am, the doors kept slamming as they shut. The location is excellent, only being 10 mins from town, however you do pay for this witht he noise from the main road. Staff were very friendly.

Good stuff: private and spacious
Bad stuff: cold not enough blankets pretty basic for a room that was classes as a superior room
Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: the hotel was in fairly close walking distance to the the very pretty city of york which myself and my partner very much enjoyed seeing.the hotel was pretty basic the staff who worked there where friendly and helpful there just wasnt enough of them!the bar was not staffed on the monday evening of our stay and we had to keep going upstairs to find someone to come down to serve us.the chef a freindly chap seemed to run two bars and two resturants.overall our stay was pleasant but i do not think this hotel represented good value for money.

Good stuff: We were upgraded to a superior room it was nice with lounge area
Bad stuff: In an annex and up four flights of stairs which was difficult with luggage. It hadnt been serviced completely before we arrived so no towels or milk but this was rectfied straight away.
Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: Breakfast was great although due to the chef not coming in on the thursday we could not have the full breakfast that day. But the staff tried there best. Didnt find the residents bar and the cellar bar was closed on the tuesday. Reception staff were helpful and worked hard. Location of the hotel very convenient for all the attractions.

Good stuff: Close to the centre of York, parking.
Bad stuff: maintenance
Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: The hotel was conveniently located, taking 10 minutes to walk into York. The breakfast was good and arrived quickly. When I arrived the radiator in my room was full on. It could not be controlled by its thermostat. Despite asking the staff to assist they were unable to alter the termperature in the room. I was not offered an alternative room and had to sleep with the window open. Also the remote control for the tv did not work, and there were not towels in the bathroom, I had to collect some from reception. The following morning an emergency glazier attended a car in the carpark which my window overlooked. He left his van engine running and the radio blaring out. Because the room was so overheated I had no option but to go out until it was time for my son to collect me.

Good stuff: The closeness to the City Centre
Bad stuff: The cosmetics of the room and to switch the heating on in the bedrooms and the dining room before people get in there
Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: Based on the cold rooms I would only recommend this Hotel for the Summer months

Good stuff: The location was good and central to the city of York.
Bad stuff: Air conditioning or a fan in the rooms would not go amiss as it was very stuffy
Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: I was happy with the service but the price was well above what we might expect to recieved or would have recieved in a standard NOVETEL for instance which was just down the road. The bathroom had smeared taps and the bath mat was threadbear. No ventilation apart from 2 windows that were main rosd facing and was noisy. Doors kept slamming up till 2 pm.Guests seem to try our door frequently. Room number 4. Net curtains never reached across the whole window. Lack of complimentary items like Shower gel or such, only one pkt of Biscuits per couple. Door to Storooom room opposite our room was left open all the time. Not worth £75 per night.

Good stuff: Location
Bad stuff: Definatley needs a decorative, looks shabby, although the bathroom and bedrooms were clean.
Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: One of the purposes for booking the hotel was that it had a restaurant, as we had two under 8's with us it was ideal. On booking in at the hotel, there was a notice on the door of the restaurant, that because a family berevement the Restaurant was closed. We were not informed at the check in and also not prior to the holiday starting, which meant we had to walk into York every night for our evening meal.

Good stuff: room, location and facilities excellent. Liked the inclusion of black pudding in the breakfast, i like black pudding.
Bad stuff: Nothing I can think of.
Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: I can't really see that there was anything that I should have known about the hotel that I didn't already, can't really think of any improvements to be made, it is easy to find and the directions were good.
well done.

Good stuff: The accommodation was simple, clean, comfortable. At UK prices, it was very good value. The breakfast was very good and freshly cooked; something that is often not the case in larger hotels.
Bad stuff: Perhaps power points for hair dryers, a greater range of breakfast cereals such as Weetabix.
Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: This hotel was very good and possibly above the 2 star rating. the staff were courteous and friendly. We would certainly consider staying there again if we return to York. We had a lovely time chatting in the bar last Friday night and that friendly atmosphere is something to treasure. We were well satisfied with our stay at the Blue Bridge Hotel.

Good stuff: The locality of the hotel was very good and the ground floor lived up to my expectations. Our room was to tiny and needed a facelift.
Bad stuff: I thought our room was extremely disappointing as it was so small and in need of decoration.
Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: Breakfast was well cooked and appealing, however toast was forgotten on our first day, the bedding was clean on a comfortable bed, the standards of hygiene were good, the bar and dining room were excellent, very well furnished and modern. Accentuating the difference found in the rooms.
