Welcome to the Dairy guesthouse, a luxurious b&b in a prime residential area of York, close to the racecourse city walls and steeped in history which oozes from every brick. Lovingly restored, and offering a warm, comfortable and memorable welcome to all visitors.
The dairy is situated just 300 yards from the city walls, and offers quality accommodation and a chance to savour a piece of York history. Built as a family home in 1890, the building became a dairy, selling everything from milk to ice cream, until its conversion in 1978.
The conversion retained many period features which can still be seen, including the fabulous ceiling roses and cornices, stained and etched glass windows and cast iron fire grates. The dairy is built round a beautiful flower-filled courtyard which many of the cottage-style rooms look onto.
Each of the bedrooms is individually designed, but with a high level of features, including charming en suite bathrooms, colour TV, CD player and tea and coffee facilities, as well as high quality toiletries. We offer one family room with 1 double and 2 single beds, and also a room with a king size four poster, for the ultimate in romance!
We look forward to welcoming you to our first class accommodation in York, North Yorkshire.
