Good stuff: Very friendly and helpful welcome. Nothing was too much trouble.were given advice regarding good restaurants and it was close enough to walk into centre of York.No noise, although the hotel was fully booked. Good breakfast and quick service.good water pressure in the shower, although was on top floor.

Bad stuff: Not really any bad points. A lot of stairs to climb, but I would have asked for lower room if this was an issue.

Overall: A very friendly and comfortable hotel.Would recomend this to others and would come back again.

Good stuff: Pleasant and friendly. Good home cooked food with generous portions. Comfortable room, very private.

Bad stuff: Other (inconsiderate) guest moving furniture around late at night in room above.

Overall: Far enough away from city centre to have a pleasant walk in and out (20 minutes). Relaxed atmosphere, with lots of privacy in comfortable suroundings.

Good stuff: Cleanliness and peacefulness of the hotel as well as the superb full english breakfast which makes your day a healthy one.

Bad stuff: Quite a walk from the City centre and the room is a little bit cold.

Overall: We found it an enjoyable one with a cozy and warm atmosphere.

Good stuff: Pleasant staff, excellent breakfast.

Bad stuff: Public corridors decoration a bit scruffy.

Overall: Very comfortable. The initial presentation of the hotel was a little off putting as decoration of corridors and stairs did not suggest a 4 diamond hotel. Desperately need renovation. Bedroom better, clean and comfortable, breakfast very good, dining room very nice.

Overall: Everything was as described in the review of the accommodation. Lovely clean rooms.Large white towels. Beautifully cooked breakfast with a great variety of choice. What more could you want plus with easy walking distance to York center
