In a good location within minutes of the city centre and York Minster on foot. Rooms are of a good quality with lovely bathroom suites. We are also well situated for those travelling here by train. There is good detail of how to get to us from the station below.

We are located in a great spot, literally right across the road from the city centre Museum Gardens. The Marygate / Northwest entrance to the gardens is 1 minutes walk strait out of our front door through the Medieval walls. For you this means walking to anywhere in the city will be a pleasant affair through these wonderful botanical gardens.

The gardens are also home to an ancient abbey's ruins (St Mary's Abbey), a class museum (The Yorkshire Museum), the Roman Octagonal Tower and a Tudoresk looking building (The Hospitium). So basically to see many of the top sights in the city, you wont have to go far at all. A little further on and this tour will take you up to the entrance of York Minster. All this wonderful stuff is just minutes away from us here.

Rooms here are all the same reasonable size. the choices we have available and their differing contents are detailed below. These generally are bedrooms with a large double or twin bed. The sheets and cases are of good quality comfortable material and are usually cleaned daily.

You will really appreciated the get up and go that a good power shower gives you in some rooms. Or as an alternative you might enjoy a luxurious dip in the whirlpool bath. Please do ask for this as a "special" on the booking form. Either way we know you will enjoy your stay.

We are also within easy reach of York Railways station. As York is an old city it is not really built with cars in mind. Thus we would recommend using the train to get to the city.

Once your train arrives here it is about a ten minute walk (1/2 a mile) to get to us. Come ouit of the station front and take a left onto the footpath. Walk along here on the left hand side of the road and then cross over what is Leeman Road using the traffic lights at the large road junction. At the junction you will notice a large statue of George Leeman, the historic railway magnet diagonally across from you. Also there is a small flower laden garden the other side of the road, which is where you are trying to get to.

Once across the junction you should pass by the flower on your left, George on your right and carry on strait up the road. It will veer round to the right and under the walls. Still keeping to your left turn left after going through the walls, go across Lendal Bridge. Once on the other side of the river you will see the Museum Gardens on your left. All you have to do now is cross over to the other side of the gardens and you are at our front door.
