In the perfect location for the race goers out there looking over the Knavesmire racecourse.

You will be just a hop skip and jump from the racecourse here, set back from the Tadcaster Road. The walk t get to the main entrance should take you about 10 minutes. However if you cut the corner and just walk across the fields it is much shorter, if somewhat damp on a morning. So ladies in heels beware.

The walk into the very middle of the city is about 1.5 miles in length which should take you about 20 minutes on foot. The directions to get there are quite simple.

Out of our door and turn left. Walk in a strait line up here for about 1 mile. The name of the road changes into Blossom Street and you will notice it becomes built up rather quickly. As you pass by restaurants pubs and shops you will notice Micklegate Bar, the South-West and Royal entrance to the city walls in front of you. Cross carefully and go through the walls entrance.

Once in the city you should go down Micklegate toward the river. This street has lovely little boutiques, churches and historic pubs all along its way. At the bottom of the little hill you will see a bridge which you must cross over. Just the other side of this, on your left is a church and Spurriergate. This quickly Coney Street which is one of the main streets of shops in the central pedestrian district of York.

We do have good bus links from just up the road though.
