This hotel was originally 2 Victorian town houses. We have in converting them, tried to keep the original character of the building in tact for you to enjoy. This still allows us to serve you with all of the facilities you would expect. The well trained staff, warm, friendly atmosphere and well equipped rooms will leave you wanting to return like many of our other guests have done over the years. We strive to make sure you stay with us in a happy and comfortable one.

All of our rooms are very elegantly furnished. Some of them come with delightful 4-poster beds in them. All rooms have private toilet facilities which are up-to-date. The hotel decor is also completed in a relaxing scheme to a standard you will appreciate. Last but by no means least we are very fastidious bout cleanliness here. All of your rooms as well as communal areas will be spotlessly clean. We promise.

We are well placed just outside of the city walls. The road we are on is called Bootham and leads up to Bootham Bar which is the Northeast entrance to the walls. However it is still very simple for you to get into the centre on foot, by taxi or bus. An example of walking distance is to York Minster. This is just under 1/2 a mile away and will take you 10 minutes on foot. An even closer example is the Art Gallery which will take about 8 minutes on the way to the Walls and Minster.

Your staff are complete authorities on this establishment and city. They will assist you to find your way around inside and outside in the city itself. Your breakfast service will be quick and professional so that when you order a hot cooked meal, it arrives to you hot. There is also a good selection available from our breakfast buffet in the morning.
