This is a beautiful, character filled Edwardian townhouse. It was first constructed to be a gentleman's dwelling around the turn of the 18th century. Now it is an exclusive guest house for you to enjoy "a right nice stay in", as they say in York. It is a petite place that has been run by the owners for some time now.
The location is a quiet one within 4 minutes walk (350 yards) of the river Ouse and the botanical Museum Gardens. This position means it will take you only 8 minutes to walk to Bootham Bar the Northwest entrance to the city walls from the front door here. Then only 2 minutes further will put you in front of York Minster. Finding somewhere else. in a better location, at the low prices we offer will not be easy.
Your hosts are renown for being very friendly and helpful to all guests. They will go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your time in the Sycamore and York. They have plenty of advice on how you can make the very best of your limited time here.
Breakfast here is another thing many previous guests have said is lovely. It is cooked for you just how you want it and there is plenty of it. There is no way we are letting you out of the door on an empty stomach. Being fed makes people happy. Seeing you happy makes us happy. Win win.
