Tourist Information for Spring in York
- Mid February - Get romantic for Valentines Day in York. Have a lovely meal and then do what lovers do in the most romantic of cities.
- Late February - Yorvik Viking Festival. A feast of spectacular Viking fun invades York every year.
- Mid March - The York Festival of Science and Technology brings many
events around the city together. Academics, students, real
people from the communities talk, show, explain and compete in competitions.
- Early to Mid April - York Open Studios brings artists and their work
together from within a ten mile radius of the city centre.
- Late April (Easter weekend) - York Model Railway Show is held at York
Racecourse. This family event has hundreds of exhibits
for model train enthusiasts. These include trade exhibitors,
societies and individuals.

- Second week in May - Battlegroup North takes place at the Yorkshire
Air Museum, Halifax Way, Elvington, Located SE of York.
A large gathering of military vehicles, airplanes and re-enactors
come together for the largest

Things to do in Summer in York
- Any sunny day - Walk the walls with the York Walls Walk
- First Weekend in June - The the perfect start to the Yorkshire summer starts in the first weekend in June as as York Carnival comes to the city. A parade runs from the Museum Gardens to the centre of town. Entertainment from University of York, local groups, local schools takes place along Parliament Street and around the city centre. Join us to enjoy bands, workshops and splendid fun activities for all the family.
- Early to Mid July - York Early Music Summer
Festival. Music from the past comes to life with several concerts around
the city to enjoy. Early booking of tickets is recommended as the last
few years concerts have sold out quickly.
- Early - late July - York Festival of the Rivers celebrates the Rivers
Ouse and Foss in York. Many sporting events and river oriented activities
take place along the rivers. Come and join in or simply enjoy a walk along
