The Judges Lodgings York Pub and Restaurant - ReviewsReal ale enthusiast tells us: The Judges Lodgings cellar bar has just been awarded Pub of the Season for Spring 2009 in the campaign for real local ales! The cellar bar does not currently brew its own ales. However, great heck brewery do produce an ale exclusively for the Judges Lodgings. Try the aptly named "The Final Judgment". Kevin Ireson's review: I have been to the downstairs Judges Bar here a number of times. It used to be used as a get together point for the local elected representatives of the council. They met and discussed further what they had just been talking about in their meetings for hours. This is where the "real" politics took place. I have not been in for a while, but last time this was no longer the case. Still it is quite a pleasant place for a chat and a drink on an afternoon or early evening in my opinion. Good Pub Food and a Reasonable PriceThe food here is of good quality. The menu is not very adventurous, but this means the cost is kept down. A good meal and a good price is the best way I can describe it. It may not be a gastronomic experience but, I have never had a bad meal here. Worth checking out. Lesley Gately told us: A lovely evening spent with two of our close friends. Efficient service and excellent food. Advise early booking at this popular rest't in the heart of beautiful York - a place to re-visit time and time again. Eddie Gee sent us this: Great pub with live entertainment, the food is good but the new range of beers is better, enjoyed my self very much so .. found out judges has a new manager and 3 new chefs, food portions are a bit on the large size and at a good price too, was told by the bar staff that they now brew there own beer sampled one called otooles very nice indeed, will inform of more details after as there is a few gigs and some better beers on sale on the night...... Please mention Hotels in York Ltd website when you call. Thanks. The Judges Lodgings
