Varsity : 6-12 Lendal
Varsity is York's very popular, student style bar. However it is liked by
all. it has a great atmosphere and the drinks and food are great value and
quality. the staff are fantastically friendly and i'd give it 5 stars of a
good night out.

The Junction Leeman Road Good ale music and Sunday Lunch here
Oscars Wine Bar Natalie Rooney gave
us a review of this quaint Wine bar and Bistro that is near to stonegate. Nice
atmosphere and good food here. This place is one of those that you would like
as a tourist or a local and it has been there for years so always a chance
to come back.
The Masons Arms A personal review by me and a note from a traveler from a few years back. Good pub food is really what we both have to say about it.
The Seahorse Hotel A personal review by Gary Hingley.
The Last Drop Inn Home page down review to be up shortly - In the middle
of York one of the York Brewery's own pubs. Good selection of real ales and
a cozy feel.
The Maltings Small real ale pub with
loads of beer on tap. Do a good beer fest from time to time if you can get
in when there are like 20 barrels of beer in the front t room. Shaun the landlord
nice guy. Says hello even if you haven't been in for 2 years. Don't see that
very often do ya.
The Minster Inn Quiet place a bit cliche
for my liking but nice people generally. Don't take the piss out of any of
the staff because they do tend to go red faced and bar you if they cant think
of a come back.
Old Grey Mare - A hotel and restaurant in Clifton, about 10 minutes walk from the city centre. Sites shows pricing, photographs and an overview of the venue.
The Royal Oak - Goodramgate
pub with an olde world feel. Small rooms and reasonable beer. Attentive staff
and your typical big landlord owner, Dave.
The Three-Legged Mare Homepage down review coming shortly - A good real ale pub. No load music just good ale and good company.
Old Star Inn - One of the, if not, the most famous pubs in the city. If you walk along stonegate you will not be able to miss the sign that runs right across the middle.
The Red Lion - this lovely establishment has been home to a good beer for a long time now. Still as good as it ever was.
The Black Swan - Good live music good ale and good company. History may well come alive for you here while you are enjoying the present in this fine ale house.
The Bluebell Inn - this is one of the classic public houses in the city. Small rooms full most of the time good beer with plesent staff and punters alike. You cant go wrong here if you are after a good pint and a chat.
