Montys Grill in York - Restaurant ReviewsMichael Forsyth emailed in to say: I am a long-time resident of York and over the years have eaten in a good proportion of the city's restaurants. However, until recently I had not even heard of, let alone visited, Monty's Grill. It is a little off the beaten path, but I think it merits a visit. 2 or 3 course lunchI went on a Sunday when they operate a special lunch menu. If I remember correctly, you can choose between having two course for around £16 or three courses for a few pounds more (in more ways than one!). Traditional British Food in YorkIn essence, the food is traditionally British. I began by having the soup of the day, which was absolutely fine but not particularly memorable. As a main though, I chose their pork dish, which was truly delicious and extremely filling. The meat was cooked to perfection and was served with generous portions of winter vegetables. I did not have a pudding myself, but my dining partner seemed to very much enjoy hers. A little less noise pleaseThe only slight drawback was that I found the restaurant to be somewhat noisy. Nonetheless, it was overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I'd recommend giving it a try. Please mention Hotels in York Ltd website when you call. Thanks. Monty's Grill
